If you like busy beaches with oceans of people this IS NOT FOR YOU. But if you are looking for remote beaches where you can really relax enjoying kilometres of beach with nobody around then don’t go anywhere! You have come to the right place. Here is one amazing beach hotel that is not on your radar (but definitely should be!)

Rustic luxury lodge in a remote Kenyan beach

Cheshale hotel, in the northern Kenyan coast, is one of Kenya’s best hidden secrets. Located on a wild and pristine coastline 20 minutes away from Malindi, the boutique hotel is well distant from crowded beaches.

We love Cheshale because it allows you to experience endless space and privacy in a safe place. The family owners have been running the hotel for over 40 years along with their loyal staff. At this hotel every detail has been taken care of and all the bandas are located right on the beach.

Cheshale Lodge is located on a secluded golden beach among native palm trees and indigenous vegetation. All the bandas are built with a laid-back style using natural materials.

World-class Kitesurfing Spot

Cheshale is not only a pristine beautiful beach, but also a paradise for kitesurfers. The hotel has equipment for rent and offers kitesurfing lessons for those who have never practiced and want to learn.

There is also kayaking, big-game fishing and dhow sailing for those looking for a more active holiday. Just make sure you leave time to just lie in a hammok or in one of the sun beds and enjoy the beautiful views.

Delicious food!

If you are a seafood lover you are absolutely going to love this place, because at Cheshale everything is fresh. But if you are a crab lover, we warn you, you may never leave!

At this secluded beach lodge the star are their locally bred crabs. The owner, Justin Aniere, has developed his own sustainable crab breeding and farm project and is leading the way in crab farming in East Africa.

The delicious variety of preparations of crabs at the restaurant are famous all over Malindi. You can get them cooked in ginger or vietnamese style, or try the Deep Fried Soft Shell Crabs. Whatever you chose, we guarantee you will want it again!

Breakfast is also generous and has options for every taste. You just can’t miss it!
